  • Door from master bedroom leads off to second bedroom with two full sized single beds. Both bedrooms are carpeted and also have underfloor heating. Hairdryer provided.

The Yorkshire Wolds

Perfectly situated for exploring the countryside, The Hayloft is in a private location on the owners smallholding in the peaceful farming village of Thornton in Yorkshire. A gentle stroll from the village takes you to the Ings which are an ideal habitat for wildlife and birds, or go down to the canal where boat trips can be arranged. The local pub in Melbourne is within a mile's walk and withing two to three miles is The Plough Inn, a golf club and water park, all at Allerthorpe. There is a village shop withing one mile and the nearest supermarkets are in the pretty market town of Pocklington which is four to five miles from the village. There are also several pubs serving good food locally.
There are plenty of things to do within the area. The historic City of York is only a twenty minute drive with it's many attractions including The Yorvik Viking Centre, York Dungeons, Castle Museum, The Railway Museum, river cruises, open top bus tours and numerous restaurants and bars. Elvington Air Museum is ten minutes away and there are three golf clubs in the area.

The local town of Pocklington nestles at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds where you will find more challenging walks or scenic drives with breathtaking views. Within approximately an hours drive you can reach the East Coast or the North York Moors. Alternatively, simply enjoy the peace and comfort of The Hayloft where the owners have tried to provide everything needed for a relaxing stay.

The Hayloft provides a luxury country retreat that is equally ideal for couples as it is for a small family, sleeping two plus two in the master bedroom with king sized bed and adjoining twin bedroom with two full sized single beds.
Children are welcome but sorry no pets or smokers.
